The Breakaway Group will partner with GE Healthcare to develop training and support implementation of Boston Medical Center’s GE RIS, PACS, and Precision Reporting. Go live is scheduled for October, 2011.


 

April 22, 2011

Orlando Health in Orlando, Florida recently contracted with The Breakaway Group to assist them with the ongoing adoption of their GE Healthcare Centricity Business application across their physician practices. Orlando Health is a healthcare leader serving nearly 2 million residents in central Florida and the Breakaway solution will be used by up to 2,000 of their employees. The Breakaway Group work on this project has already begun and our solution will be in place for Orlando Health users by September 2011.

Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Hospital System (SCLHS) is a Catholic health care system spanning California, Colorado, Kansas and Montana, sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. SCLHS recently contracted with the Breakaway Group to support their implementation of Epic Inpatient, ASAP and OpTime across 8 Care Sites in their multi-hospital system. The nursing and care team staff will use the Breakaway Method® for adoption in all ED, OR and Inpatient settings starting with their first Go Live on November 1, 2010.


 

October 15, 2010

Hartford Healthcare in Hartford, CT contracted today with The Breakaway Group for their Revenue Cycle implementation. HHC is implementing functionalities with three vendors; SCI, AHI, and MedAssets. The Breakaway Group will be developing an end user adoption strategy for the 150 staff members of the Revenue Cycle Department. Curriculum will be developed for registration, scheduling, pricing, insurance verification, and payment collections. The Revenue Cycle Department is planning a February 1, 2011 Go Live in their organization.


 

The Breakaway Group Contracts with Sutter Physician Services

The Breakaway Group has begun a relationship with Sutter Physician Services to provide a full adoption solution for their Epic revenue cycle implementation. The Sutter Physician Services team of over 500 people based in Sacramento and five regional offices provides services to over 410,000 members from more than 30 health care organizations, managing more than $975 million in receivables and managed care services each year. The Breakaway Group will be creating a full suite of communication, measurement and educational tools for Epic’s Resolute Professional Billing, Cadence/Prelude and Tapestry applications.

Currently we are partnering with Epic on 3 projects: Exempla Healthcare - Epic CPOE, Sutter Gould - Epic Summer '09 Upgrade, and Sutter Physician Services - Epic Revenue Cycle. Because our partnership has been formalized with these clients we will be able to quickly execute contracts to support future Epic business.


Benefis Medical Group Contracts With The Breakaway Group® to Support Their LSS Practice Management Application

Benefis Medical Group, located in Great Falls, Montana, has recently contracted with The Breakaway Group® to support their LSS Medical Practice Management application, scheduled for Go Live on February 1, 2011. Benefis Medical Group is home to approximately 300 clinical users and 80 providers, located in multiple physician clinics. The Breakaway Group is developing role based curriculum for the clinical and provider staff, in addition to education for patients, allowing them access to the patient portal and their Benefis medical records!


Poudre Valley Health Systems Contracts With The Breakaway Group®

Located in Fort Collins, Colorado, Poudre Valley Health Systems has contracted with The Breakaway Group® for their upcoming Meditech 6.0 Client Server implementation!

The Breakaway Group is currently developing curriculum for the Emergency Department end users. The online simulators and Quick Reference Guides will support the end users in their learning of the new application. The Breakaway Group will also be developing clinical curriculums which will be used in educating new clinical employees on the application as they join the organization. The role based online simulators will be available to 3000 end users throughout the organization. Poudre Valley Health System is planning an October 2010 Go Live!


Sutter Gould Medical Foundation Contracts With The Breakaway Group®

Located in the Central Valley of California, Sutter Gould Medical foundation has contracted with The Breakaway Group for their upcoming Epic upgrade to Summer ’09. The Breakaway group will be creating short simulators which will be used in educating physicians on the new functionality and navigation available after the upgrade on October 9, 2010. The Sutter Gould Medical Foundation has over 240 physicians in both primary and specialty practices who provide outpatient services for residents in Stanislaus, San Joaquin and Merced county communities.


Trinity Health Contracts With The Breakaway Group®

Trinity Health recently contracted with The Breakaway Group® to conduct a pilot around the implementation methodology of the NextGen EHR for their affiliated physicians. The pilot will focus on clinics in Ann Arbor implementing e-Prescribing. We will first launch a PromisePoint™ Community in July to host physicians and other users who need to learn how to use e-Prescribing without having to attend a day-long training class. A survey is being conducted to measure and compare efficiency and effectiveness of users who went through a traditional classroom approach with those who leveraged the virtual solution.


Exempla Healthcare Contracts With The Breakaway Group®

Exempla Healthcare recently contracted with The Breakaway Group® to assist with their Epic CPOE upgrade. We will first launch a PromisePoint™ Community in August to host up to 2300 physicians and other users who need to learn CPOE. In November we will create a total solution for new physician education across all 3 hospitals and in 2011 we will host up to 6000 users which will include Epic education and support for both physician and care team staff across the organization.


Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital Have Contracted with The Breakaway Group® for Their Upcoming EMR Implementation

Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital in Cape Cod, MA have contracted with The Breakaway Group® for their upcoming Electronic Medical Record (EMR) implementation. Siemans Sorian EMR will be implemented at both hospitals in December 2011. Approximately 5000 end users will be educated on the application using The Breakaway Group learning methodology. The implementation will include revenue cycle in addition to clinicals. CPOE will be introduced in Phase 2 of the project, planned for June 2012.


The Breakaway Group® recently contracted with Hartford Health Care in Hartford, CT for their implementation of Allscripts Practice Electronic Medical Record (PEMR)

Hartford Health Care plans to implement the new software in their physician practice groups and will also be marketing the PEMR product to affiliate physician groups. Approximately 1200 end users are expected to be using the application with a staggered rollout over the next several months.

Arkansas Children's Hospital Contracts with The Breakaway Group® to Guarantee Adoption of their Meditech Implementation

 

April 14, 2010

Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) recently contracted with The Breakaway Group® for their implementation of Meditech electronic medical record. ACH is located in Little Rock, Arkansas and 6000 end users will be using the new application. The organization is planning for a September 1 Go Live. Phase 2 of the implementation is planned for early 2011 and will include CPOE, OR Management, ED Management, Plan of Care, and Patient Notes.


Baptist Health Looks to The Breakaway Group® for Help with the Adoption of their NextGen EMR Implementation

Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Alabama recently partnered with The Breakaway Group® for their implementation of NextGen Enterprise Practice Management (EPM) for their physician clinics. With approximately 1250 end users in various locations, Promise Point Community will serve the organization in delivering an extraordinary end user learning experience. Baptist is also planning an implementation of NextGen electronic medical record (EMR) in their physician practices in late 2010.


Central Washington Hospital Goes Live on Cerner EMR

 

March 30, 2010

Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee went live on Cerner electronic medical record, and members of The Breakaway Group® team were there to assist. Team TBG spent several days, prior to Go Live, training physicians on new workflow and functionalities of the application. The Breakaway Group developed a library of simulators for clinical support and physicians. As of Go Live, 1,323 end users had completed curriculums designed for their role at CWH.

Spring has arrived in Great Falls and The Breakaway Group® is welcoming the warmer weather as they travel to Benefis Hospital in preparation for their April 30 Go Live event! The Breakaway Group has been asked to conduct Grand Rounds April 12 and again April 26 providing 2 CMEs for providers. TBG will provide Go Live support at the end of April to the 2,063 end users that completed the role based simulators for the Meditech v6.0 application.


The Breakaway Group® Continues to Provide Sustainment Services at USC Care Medical Group

Following implementation, The Breakaway Group® has continued to provide sustainment services to USC Care Medical Group in Los Angeles, CA. The organization went live on Centricity Business in July 2009 and they continue to maintain their Super User network. Monthly meetings allow for advanced learning and tips and tricks which can then be communicated throughout the organization. A Super User Conference is planned for mid-April and plans are underway to share advanced skills with the Super User network. In addition, random proficiency audits will be conducted and an assessment will be provided to the leadership team following the onsite visit.

TBG Advisory Board Member Bill Spooner Named CHIME CIO of the Year

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) announced that the recipient of the 2009 John E. Gall Jr. CIO of the Year Award is William Spooner, FCHIME, Senior Vice President and CIO at Sharp HealthCare in San Diego. The award, co-sponsored by CHIME and Chicago-based HIMSS, recognizes healthcare IT executives who have made significant contributions to their organizations and demonstrated innovative leadership through effective use of technology. Spooner has been with Sharp HealthCare since 1981 and has served as CIO for the past 13 years. He is currently leading Sharp’s efforts to implement computer-based physician order entry, a key component of the organization’s patient safety initiative and the foundation for its emerging EMR. According to CHIME, Spooner has served as Chair of the CHIME Board in 2006 and Chair of the CHIME Foundation Board in 2007. He has been a frequent presenter at the HIMSS conference and is active in his local chapter. Spooner will receive the award at the annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition in Atlanta, Ga. on March 2.


TBG’s partnership with GE provides continued opportunities to assist GE with end user training and onsite support

TBG’s partnership with GE provides continued opportunities to assist GE with end?user training and onsite support. GE contacted TBG to support Carolina Medical Center’s (CMC) Northeast conversion of its RIS department’s applications to Carolina’s Healthcare System standards. Rounding out GE’s team of four, the TBG team was able to provide valuable support during the go live. GE had contracted with CMC to provide end?user support for the Centricity RIS?IC application deployed four years earlier in their hospital network. After a quick orientation of the client’s needs and expectations, it was good to reconnect with some GE contacts while on site at CMC. Implementation leaders from CMC were overly thrilled with the end?user support the team provided and expressed their appreciation for the long hours spent supporting CMC NE.


Hope Network went “live” on their new HCS Interactant Electronic Medical Record and TBG was on site to provide end?user support

On November 2, 2009, Hope Network went “live” on their new HCS Interactant Electronic Medical Record, and TBG was on site to provide end?user support. TBG, along with the Hope Network Core Team, supported the Rehabilitation facilities in Grand Rapids, Michigan as clinicians began documenting care in the EMR! Hope Network will continue the rollout with a phased implementation. Rehabilitation in Lansing, Michigan is scheduled for implementation in early January 2010, and the rollout will continue throughout the other affiliates and locations during the remainder of the year.


Baylor Health Care Systems contracts with TBG

October 1, 2009

Baylor Health Care Systems has contracted with The Breakaway Group® to provide a learning strategy for their GE RIS/PACS implementation. TBG led a Discovery process during late August and, because of an abbreviated timeline, task validations began the following week! Baylor is located in Dallas, Texas and is home to 8 hospitals with 6000 end?users. RIS and PACS simulators are planned for the end?users, with the Grapeline location Go Live scheduled for November 6. Additional hospitals will go live on the new application every 90 days, taking this project into 2012.
