December 1, 2009 – Carolina's Medical Center Northeast

TBG’s partnership with GE provides continued opportunities to assist GE with end‐user training and onsite support. GE contacted TBG to support Carolina Medical Center’s (CMC) Northeast conversion of its RIS department’s applications to Carolina’s Healthcare System standards. Rounding out GE’s team of four, the TBG team was able to provide valuable support during the go live. GE had contracted with CMC to provide end‐user support for the Centricity RIS‐IC application deployed four years earlier in their hospital network. After a quick orientation of the client’s needs and expectations, it was good to reconnect with some GE contacts while on site at CMC. Implementation leaders from CMC were overly thrilled with the end‐user support the team provided and expressed their appreciation for the long hours spent supporting CMC NE.

Baylor Health Care Systems has contracted with The Breakaway Group to provide a learning strategy for their GE RIS/PACS implementation. July 14, 2009 – USC Care Medical Group

The greatest compliment we can receive is a referral from a client, so imagine the impact when a client demonstrates our simulators and learning methodology to a GE Users Group! USC Care Medical Group did exactly that at the Western Regional User’s Group (WRUG) meeting in LA in late June. TBG attended the conference and was available for questions regarding the PromisePoint™ Community. The following week, TBG completed the GE Centricity Business implementation at USC Care Medical Group in Los Angeles by providing Go‐Live Support during their implementation of the new application. We were onsite to provide at‐the‐elbow support to end users, and assisted USC staff remotely, providing curriculum updates and LMS support. TBG will be conducting Post‐Go‐Live surveys of the USC staff and TBG will provide metrics to USC’s leadership team at USC in late July.

TBG is excited to announce the Research Team’s latest publishing endeavor. Drs. Haugen and Woodside head up a team that will research, write, design and publish a book about the “Adoption Gap” – the gap that exists between organizations implementing and adopting new healthcare technologies. Thanks to newly-allocated ARRA stimulus funds for nationwide electronic health and medical record implementation, our industry is in the spotlight, and this book will not only explain the gap, but also will represent how TBG can help organizations succeed in adopting an EMR.

April 29, 2009 – Massachusetts General Hospital plans Go Live Fall 2009!

With its football-themed “RIS Replacement Drive” project under way, MGH looks forward to their User Adoption Strategy Review on May 1, where they will get a first look at their customized learning solution design.
